2010 shorts programs – call for entries!

The Lake Placid Film Forum is pleased to announce a call for entries for the 2010 Shorts Programs, effective January 15th.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Lake Placid Film Forum.  The North Country Shorts program will continue, with submission criteria the same as in 2009; films are to run no longer than ten minutes in length, and either feature a story which relates to the North Country region (defined as: from Albany, north to the Canadian Border, and east to encompass the Champlain Region, including Burlington, Vermont, and its outlying area), or is directed, written, or produced by a filmmaker hailing from the region, or having spent significant time there.  The North Country Shorts Showcase is a competitive program, with the winner receiving an Audience Choice Award.  Entry fee is $35 until March 15th.  After March 15th, until April 15th, late entries are possible for a fee of $55.  Submissions should include three digital copies of the film, and submission form, which can be found and downloaded from our main website, or requested by calling 518-523-3456.  The films will be reviewed by a committee within the Film Forum, and accepted films will be announced no later than May 1st, over a month before the Showcase itself, scheduled for Sunday, June 13th.

It is possible to submit your film to both short programs, provided that it meets the North Country Shorts criteria.  Both entry fees are applicable.

To recap:  Two fantastic short film programs for The Lake Placid Film Forum: 2010.  The continuation of the North Country Shorts Showcase, and the addition of The Lake Placid Film Forum Presents: Shorts and Featurettes.  Call for entries effective January 15th.  We can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on!  Best of luck, and Happy New Year!
